Bulk Vegetable Seeds

Sakata Seed Southern Africa's Seed's vegetable division is both a breeding and trading organisation. Although
most of the primary research and development takes place at our headquarters north
of Johannesburg, a significant amount of research and development takes place in
the distributors marketing areas. The Sakata Technical Centre at our headquarters
co-ordinates developmental programs throughout our trading regions to ensure the
best horticultural options are made available in specific production zones.
Sakata has an accredited phytosanitary free zone at our headquarters where we are
able to work on pre-commercial trialing and development programs with breeders through
out the world.
Sakata's breeding activities are focused on an extensive tomato program. Breeding
activities take place around the country and in certain key world sectors to ensure
that the varieties developed are widely adapted to specific climatic conditions
and market requirements. Many of our varieties are particularly well adapted and
are sold internationally. |
